Shortly after my last post Allen Miles walked into the courtroom, along with two other offenders – one man and one woman. All three were appearing before Judge Norman to be processed for entry into Drug Court. Within fifteen minutes Allen had answered all questions, and had signed the several pages of documents, to make it official.
Yesterday, (Monday), I pulled into the parking lot, at the Drug Court facilities, to wait for Allen’s transport to arrive. Just as I was swinging wide into the lined parking space, my cell phone rang. It was Drug Court informing me that there had been another glitch in Allen’s furlough. It seems that his attorney had missed one of the charges against him – the one he had been arrested for. With this charge still pending Allen could not be transferred.
It is everyone’s hope that the matter will be cleared up swiftly and Allen will be transferred within the next couple of weeks. I hope to visit with him tomorrow, to bring you more of the story.
Until next time….
